Ingredients for this recipe

4 slices of white bread 2 tablespoons of butter, softened ¼ cup of all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon of kosher salt 4 tablespoons of milk, a small bowl of fresh butter, 1 cup of aged, sharp cheddar cheese. 

Directions –  Preheat the grill to a medium heat and toast both sides of the bread, slicing them on a diagonal. While the bread is toasting, make the sandwich by putting the buttered slices in the toaster, and then buttering both sides. Remove the bread from the toaster and place on a plate. Combine the butter, flour, and salt in a small bowl and whisk together until smooth. Whisk the milk and egg in a small bowl and pour over the butter, flour, and salt mixture. Whisk until it is combined well. Turn on the grill and heat it on medium heat.

Grill bread (butter works just fine, but you don’t want it too thin) until golden brown. Place onto a plate, top with cheese, and top with the other half of the bread. Heat a skillet or a frying pan over medium-high heat.

Add olive oil and cook the bread until golden brown. Once golden brown, remove from pan and allow to cool. As with all grilled cheeses, the best way to get the perfect flavor is to use a quality ingredient.
